Dave, the recognition is deserved.

I totally agree that the volunteers are a huge part of this thing too, and a huge thanks goes out to the 4H kids and their organizers, as well as to the others who've come through over the past few years.

The projoect is coming into its own, no doubt about that. I wish I'd kept better photo records of the progress, but I don't think a camera could adequately capture the changes to the place and the wildlife. It's awesome.

And yeah, all packed up. Heading to Oakland Airport in about fifteen minutes.

Thanks for the recognition Phillip. Yes, it has become a passion of my life to finish this project. Even when I have to get into my piggy bank for gas money.

We also need to recognize our volunteers. We would not be as far along as we are without them. This year we had more volunteers than any year previous. They helped me fence off the Aspen grove, they helped me plant trees, they helped me replace a quarter mile of the boundary fencing with wildlife friendly fence.

I have always had two goals for this project. One is to turn the property into a wildlife refuge. The second has always been to get more people outdoors and interested in what is happening to our forests and the wildlife habitat. Slowly but surely we are accomplishing both.

Got your truck packed for the next trip?
