Slowing down for a minute
I know, I already apologized for the slowdown on the Hog Blog, but just to let ya’ll know…
Sometimes life throws you curves and fastballs you just never see coming. If you keep your head, you’ll swing at the good ones and let the others go on by. You just have to stand tough and keep your eye on the ball. Forget about swinging for the fence… take it one base at a time.
Now that I’m done channeling my old little league coach…
Hope ya’ll don’t mind if I keep the details to myself, but suffice it to say that I got reminded of some things that are important to me over the last week or so. When it was all said and done, I remembered how to count my blessings… something that I guess I tend to take for granted more than I should. Things could totally be worse, and they’re not half-bad right now. Sometimes it just takes an anvil falling on my head to remind me of that.
This concludes the emotional, touch-feely portion of tonight’s programming.
Honest, I’ve got more hunting and outdoors-related stuff on the way. I’ve just been a bit off my oats, so-to-speak. I think I’ve got some of my perspective back now…

I am totally with you on that one Phillip!

Phillip,
It is always wise to take a few moments to collect oneself, and count ones blessings. I should do it more often myself…
Best regards,
Albert

I think all of us have those moments when we really need to either prioritize better, or stop and take a good look at all the things we are blessed with.
I think you’ve got your head on straight, Phillip. And we’ll all be here when you write new hunting-related posts.

No problems. When/if you get around to writing, we’ll be here to read it. You are appreciated.

Let me guess; you remembered how important it is to fish the Gulf Stream off the Carolina coast, and you’re on a boat right now.
Just kidding! Hope all is OK, and I look forward to your return.

Thanks all, particularly for the votes of confidence.
Matt, I have to say I really like what you had to say. Been drooling about fishing the Stream all summer, especially since it sounds like they’ve been having a real banner year back there this season!
For what it’s worth, all is “OK”… in fact, as I realized recently, it’s better than “OK”. Things could be so much worse.
