Lead Ban Chronicles – A Different Perspective
I’ve had a lot to say about the lead ammo ban in CA, and I appreciate some of the conversations we’ve had on this topic. I’ve tried to stay on top of the topic, but I’ve got a day job, so most of what I offer is second hand, especially when it comes to the deeper research or meeting face to face with some of the principals on either side of the issue.
But there are some folks out there who are getting down into the dirty details, particularly when it comes to chasing down the science (or lack thereof) behind the condor studies. I want to take this opportunity to (re-) introduce one of those people, Mr. Anthony Canales.
Some of you may remember him from earlier conversations. He and I don’t see completely eye-to-eye on some things, but we are definitely aligned on the desired outcome… controlling if not stopping, the spread of the lead ammo ban across this state, and across the country.
Unfortunately, for some reason my spam filter is dead-set against allowing him to post on this blog. I’ve tried adjusting the settings and filters, but I’m guessing his email is on some kind of blacklist. I dunno, but whatever it is, I don’t have the patience or time to go fetch his posts from the spam bucket every time he decides to comment. We’ve sort of reached an impasse, but he still drops me an occasional email… as he did after the June 24-25 Fish and Game Commission meeting (we didn’t see eye to eye on that one either, but that’s neither here nor there). Regardless of what I think about his approach sometimes, he’s one of the good guys, and he’s working pretty hard to build a case on the details.
A plan. That’s what I needed… and it came to me. Why not just direct folks to his site, and ya’ll can read his comments right from the horse’s mouth (so to speak). So here ya go… you can check out a particularly relevant thread right away, or just go to his site and browse around. There’s a lot there… a whole lot. See what you think.
If you’re up to it, feel free to drop by and add comments here too, but remember that Mr Canales can’t comment here so if you want to comment to him personally, do so on his site where he can speak for himself.

Phillip,
Thank you for that link..Its eye opening and its refreshing to see that Mr.Canales shares my own views on “voodoo” science. Except he has the documents to back it up.

Phillip,
I prefer your style to that of Mr. Canales. Thanks for the link, but his approach will keep me away.
