Phil,

Thanks for remembering. Ouch! Not been to Tejon since but I understand I'm well represented by Eric (XDHunter) and the rest of the team.

I've spent a few hours updating myself on your blog and going a few articles back.

Dang, I'm kicking myself not getting your autograph. Now you are famous as a TV and CNNews personality.

Anyway, nice and very thoughtful responses on the lead bullet issue -- except I'm for the total phased ban following it's banning on paint and gasoline. Hey, I don't want to start a debate here (LOL). I don't want to cross swords with you and I noticed that 'ol sharp pen can still sting.

All the best.

Hey Mon! Glad to see you popping in. Everybody asks about you every year, you know. Your accident has become something of a legend, but we enjoyed your company as well.

Congrats to another awesome JHO pig-hunt.

I can only but confirm your unselfish guidance for the new pig hunters. I was once the beneficiary to your Day 1 wise but short briefing on Pig Behavior on Tejon 101. My first Tejon pig was my diploma for taking the lessons seriously. Reading your blog brought back those sweet memories (the truck accident just spiced it up).

Thanks again!

Thanks, Marian... glad you enjoyed the stories. I sure enjoyed making them!

Those hills are definitely tough, and I generally feel it for a day or two afterward, but it's totally worth it.

Congrats to you and Chuck on your hog kills. Looks like a good time was had by all at the Tejon Ranch. I enjoyed reading about your adventures...and hope you have recovered some. You have to be in pretty good shape to go up and down hills like that! :)

Thanks all. Michael, that's the San Gabriels in the first picture... taken during the February hunt. Sorry if it was misleading, but it was just a nice picture to lead off with.

Jesse, I know the feeling. My thighs are still tight from climbing in and out of the hell holes. Even without a pig on my back, that's some tough country.

Holly, the dead pig rolling downhill has become something of a regular occurrence. It's funny afterward, but man my heart sank when that thing started to go... it's a tough recovery either way, but getting out of the bottom of that canyon is a killer! At least I know the trail pretty well now.

By the way, this sow rolled down and fetched up against exactly the same log as <a href="http://californiahuntingtoday.com/hogblog/2008/05/27/another-great-hunt-at-tejon-ranch/" rel="nofollow">my Memorial Day hog from last year</a>.

Great story! I especially like the part where yet another allegedly stationary dead pig of yours takes a plunge down a ravine. You have amazing luck, dude!

But, really, it all sounds like fun, and I can't wait to get out again this summer.

Dang, that sounds like so much fun Phillip!
I am glad that the guys who went home empty handed still enjoyed themselves, because it is not every day that you get to see the Sierras off in the distance like that from the vantage point you guys were.

Remarkably, beautiful!
