Our Christmas Eve mallards sitting on the mantle of our fireplace always remind me of the young man who was hunting with my husband that day and who passed away in a hunting accident just a couple of years later. He was like a nephew to us and we're still close to his family because we spent time in the field with him. This is a great response to a Dad who seems to be hunting just because his son wants to – and you are right taking kids hunting is one of the best ways to build memories. That is a great idea, and one that I wish Michigan would take on. I'm also very impressed by the response. Not only did they answer the question, they even went above and beyond and saluted him for hunting with his son. I think all of the fish and game/DNR departments in our nation could take a lesson or two from this. And taking your kids hunting and fishing is a great idea.
