Pig Hunt – The Movie US Premiere in San Francisco
Actually, I got the first notice about this last week, but with so much going on it slipped my mind. Fortunately, Patrick shot me a reminder:
Pig Hunt
Jim Isaac (USA 2008)
Cowriter/coproducer Robert Mailer Anderson and cowriter Zack Anderson expected to attendDeep country bliss turns into a verdant hell when John (Travis Aaron Wade), his girlfriend, and a group of buddies head out from San Francisco for a weekend of pig hunting. At the remote ranch of John’s uncle, who has died under mysterious circumstances, the city slickers soon suspect a ravenous 3,000-pound black boar is rampaging through the forest. They also discover other malevolent forces in their midst—including a heavily armed clan of rednecks, a machete-toting cult leader and his emu-raising, pot-growing crew of femmes fatales. There are cameos and music from blues harp legend Charlie Musselwhite and Primus’s Les Claypool, who provided the brooding funky original score. Paying homage to drive-in cinema as well as more mainstream fare like Deliverance, Jaws and The Road Warrior, S.F.’s own writer/producer Robert Mailer Anderson and director/producer Jim Isaac have come up with a darkly comic hell ride with a uniquely Northern California sensibility.

I wish I could make it, but I’ll be in preparations to head out for three weeks of guiding mule deer hunters at Coon Camp Springs. If you can make it, and you like the outlandishly hilarious horror movies with a fine dose of gore and all the trimmings, this is bound to be a blast of a flick. On the other hand, if you’re the kind of person who takes depictions of hog hunters and red necks a little too seriously, or if you can’t wrap your sense of humor around the idea of a 3000 lb, killer boar … well, this may not be the right choice.

I will have to wait for the D.V.D. Phillip.
Just too danged busy these days but it looks like a fun one to watch and be entertained by!
You got them Deer tied up for us yet?
